about me

I was born in Austin, Texas and raised in the historic, small town of Georgetown, located half an hour north. I was a pretty serious student in high school and active in the marching band and cheerleading, and thankfully earned a scholarship to Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. There I studied political science, economics and Spanish (for a semester in Buenos Aires), and I established a practice as a fitness instructor, teaching boot camp, kickboxing, and step aerobics on campus. I also interned for a national political campaign, which opened the doors to an internship on the White House speechwriting team the summer before my senior year. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Policy the following summer, and for the next year and a half, served on the President’s speechwriting team as a member of the full-time staff. I worked with the senior speechwriters as a research assistant, and had the opportunity to write speeches on occasion.

Since my time at the White House, I have lived in New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas. I’ve worked in numerous corporate settings as a communications consultant to Fortune 500 CEOs, and I’ve acted as a ghostwriter and consultant for a wide range of entrepreneurs, small business leaders, and entertainment professionals. I’m also insufferably analytical about the state of world affairs, and (as part of my therapy for this condition) I write articles about virtues and pop culture on behalf of a site called Acculturated, occasionally published in the New York Post. I paint and dabble in mosaics for fun and continue to stay active as a fitness instructor at various gyms. My dream for years has been to produce a line of innovative books and videos for the fitness industry, and I'm slowly but surely moving toward this goal.

My current projects keep me in Austin for the time, where I live with an unflappable mutt named Winston.
